Vintage Allertons Serpent Jug

Vintage Allertons jug produced in Staffordshire in the 19th-century. This style features the vibrant 'Gaudy Welsh' pattern. These designs often resemble 'oriental' depictions of flowers, hand-painted in cobalt blue & red, often accented with green & copper lustre.  

This example features a serpent handle & 'oriental' face. 

Perfect as a vase for fresh or dried flowers or for liquid items such as milk.
