A rare find; this antique 'Victoria Ware' blue & white Ironstone platter features a traditional Chinoiserie design which includes a repeating pagoda motif.
Victorian ironstone is a type of pottery which was made in England in the 19th century. It is a durable, glaze-covered heavy earthenware. This fine example features lots of detail & is a vivid, deep inky blue.
Ideal for use as a grazing or dessert plate, a tray for gathering spices & condiments in the kitchen, or for toiletries in the bathroom. Hang on the wall as a striking piece of art, alone or as part of a blue & white vignette.
Large & heavy - a very substantial piece. Size 43cm long x 32.5cm wide x 3.5cm shallow.
