Double Happiness Ginger Jar Lamp

'Xi' represents happiness or joy and also love and luck. When this character is doubled - only used as an ornamental design motif - it comes to symbolise the coming together of two people,  fitting neatly with the Chinese belief that happiness comes in pairs.  

This is a popular ginger jar design, traditionally given as a wedding gift to represent a happy marriage. 

• Made by hand up to 30 years ago, following traditional Qing Dynasty craftsmanship methods and design
• Hand-painted ceramic base with blue & white glaze
• Dimensions: 9 inch diameter x 6.3/4 inch diameter base x 9.5 inch high to top of lamp base.
